Giant Wheel
Located near the Cedar Point Aquatic Stadium, the Giant Wheel offers one of the finest views of Cedar Point. From the top of the circular wheel, riders can see the park, the Cedar Point Beach and the Wicked Twister roller coaster. The Giant Wheel is a beautiful sight in the evening. With more than 2,600 colored lights, it has more lights than any ride in the park.
Standing 136 feet tall, it is one of the tallest Ferris wheels in North America. The Giant Wheel has a diameter of 128 feet and sits on an eight-foot platform. It holds 36 six-person cabins.
It first opened at Cedar Point in 1972. Its original location was next to the train station for the C.P. & L.E. Railroad. Since then, it has given more than 21 million rides. Last summer, the Giant Wheel gave 335,112 rides. Guests must be at least 48 inches tall or accompanied by a responsible person to ride.
