Trip Tips
Trip Tips for Mom and Dad
- Cedar Point recommends visiting on Sunday, Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday, when crowds are smaller. Check our Operating Hours for the day you plan to attend.
- Make sure you and your children are dressed for comfort. Cotton is the most practical fabric, since it's cool and dries quickly after getting wet. Broken in sneakers are the best bet for footwear.
- Be prepared for all types of weather, (and rides!). Conditions along the Lake Erie shore can change unexpectedly. Cedar Point rents lockers to store extra clothes. Lockers are located near the front main gate (right side) for all-day rental. The rental fee for these lockers is $5.00 for a small locker and $8.00 for a large locker. An additional $10.00 refundable deposit will be returned when the key is returned. Lockers are also located near Top Thrill Dragster, Millennium Force, Wicked Twister, Magnum exit, Snake River Falls and Thunder Canyon . The Rental fee for these lockers is $1.00 (small) and $2.00 (large) and is paid each time the locker is opened. (Change machines are located near the lockers.) All-day locker rental is available at the Soak City Bathhouse ($5.00 rental fee and $10.00 deposit). On busy days lockers are likely to fill up quickly. Gift shops in the park also offer a wide variety of clothing for all types of weather.
- Pack sunscreen. Even on a cloudy day, the sun's rays can pierce through the clouds and reflect off the midways. Sunscreen is also available in many shops throughout the park.
- When you enter the park, point out an employee dressed in a uniform and tell your children to find someone dressed in that uniform should they become lost. Lost Persons/Message Centers are located in Kiddy Kingdom and the Town Hall Museum .
- Children may be "officially" measured (and receive a wristband if they meet height requirements) at Park Operations and Town Hall. For the safety of your child, a standard play shoe which does not contribute excessively to the child's height will be permitted. Platform shoes, for example, are not permitted to be worn to help a child meet a height requirement. Cedar Point reserves the right to ask that shoes be removed to ensure that a child's height is not being artificially enhanced or manipulated.
- Children encountering Cedar Point for the first time can be overwhelmed. It's a good idea to prepare them for what to expect, possibly by planning your visit in advance. Request a copy of our brochure online.
- Schedule quiet times between periods of high activity. The Frontier Trail, Live Shows, and Town Hall Museum all offer relaxing entertainment.
- Children's meals are available in Kiddy Kingdom, Camp Snoopy, along the main midway and in Frontiertown. The park's full-service restaurants also offer children's menus. Natural fruit juices and milk are also available throughout the park. FREE ice water is obtainable at all food stands throughout the park.
- First Aid Stations are located in Planet Snoopy and Frontiertown. They provide warming for bottles and privacy for nursing.
- Baby-sitting services are available for guests of our hotels only. Service may be requested at the Hotel Services Desk in the Hotel Lobby. Availability is not guaranteed.
- Bottles can be warmed at the First Aid Stations and at any of the park's sit-down restaurants.
- Facilities are located in all of the rest rooms in the park. Miscellaneous baby supplies are available for purchase at the Marina Store and Infant Shop at the Front Rental Center.
- A limited number of strollers are available at the Rental Center near the Main Entrance.
KidTrack
Cedar Point offers a guest service to quickly reunite separated children and their parents with a cell phone. Here's how KidTrack works:
- KidTrack wristbands are available at Guest Services at the Main Gate, the ticket booths at all other entrance gates, both Soak City entrances, Park Operations and Town Hall.
- Guest should write their 10-digit cell phone number on the wristband and fasten it around their child's right wrist. Guest should explain the reason for the wristband to their child, and instruct them to go to the nearest uniformed employee if they become separated.
- If the guest and their child become separated, the Cedar Point employee who finds the child will activate the KidTrack system. Guest's cell phone number will be called and guest will be told where the child is being safely kept until they are reunited.
- Guests must make sure to leave their cell phone on in case the KidTrack system needs to be used to contact them.
Parent/Child Swap
If you wish to ride some of the height-restricted rides but have small children with you, Cedar Point offers a program that may help. One responsible person may wait with the child on the midway near the ride exit while the other guests in the party enter the line. When the rest of the party in line has ridden and exited, the person who waited with the child may enter the ride through the exit and ride. (A guest of appropriate height may ride twice, once with each person, if so desired.) PLEASE NOTE: To participate in Parent Swap, parents need to obtain a slip at Guest Services (at the main gate), Park Operations, Town Hall or Resort Entrance Gate (near Magnum) to authorize them for the program.
